W5: "The School that Runs on Kindness and Solar Power"

Image
The School that Runs on Kindness and Solar Power In many schools today, classrooms are packed, the weather is hot and fans spin endlessly to fight the heat. According to Jaafar (2025), Malaysia will continue to experience hot and dry weather, and a high number of rainless days is expected to continue until September this year. With rising temperatures, schools are forced to rely heavily on electricity for fans as well as air-conditioners. This will lead to higher energy usage, which costs more money and also harms the environment by creating more carbon emissions, especially if the power comes from non-renewable energy sources. Water usage is another serious issue that schools often overlook. Schools use a large amount of water every day for heating and cooling systems, toilets, water taps, cafeterias, laboratories, outdoor playgrounds and landscaping (El-Nwsany et al., 2019).  Figure 1: AI-generated image of Willow Forest By the year 2045, there will be a school named Willow Fores...

W4: "My Hero Fights Hunger"

Image
My Hero Fights Hunger Figure 1: AI-generated image of the Sky Tower and the Ground Zones      In the year 2222, the world had changed. The rich lived high up in the Sky Towers, where they eat real fruits, vegetables and fresh meat. However, the poor lived below in the dark and polluted Ground Zones. They were forced to buy synthetic food produced by the Towers. It was expensive, tasteless and had no nutrition. Many people could not even afford to eat. Their bodies grew weaker day by day. Farming is illegal. Drones scan the Ground Zones daily to destroy illegal crops and capture protestors.  Figure 2: AI-generated image of Keira      Keira is 20 years old. She lives in Zone 9, a forgotten place full of broken buildings. Her parents died when she was 14, weak and starving. Since then, she survived on her own. One day, while exploring a broken building, Keira finds an old metal box hidden under broken bricks. On the box was a name Dr. Edward Cullen,...

W3: "A Day Without Water"

Image
A Day Without Water Figure 1: AI-generated image of a child suffering without water 11 July 2025, Friday Dear Diary,       Today was an exhausting day.       It was around 6 a.m. when I woke up from a short rest during my night shift at the hospital. I was still sleepy and going to grab a cup of coffee before checking on patients. Suddenly, my colleague told me that our town had lost access to clean water. At first, I thought it was a joke. Then, I realised it was not. We had no clean water to wash our hands, no water to clean wounds and equipment, no way to flush the toilets. We relied on hand sanitizers and tried to boil all the bottled water we had left to clean the equipment. But it was not enough. A patient with a wound needed cleaning, and all we could do was to wipe it with antiseptic. I felt so helpless. In a hospital, hygiene is everything.       Just after lunch, I got a text from my younger sister. She told me that t...

W2: "My Invention to Save the Earth"

Image
My Invention to Save the Earth Figure 1: AI-generated image of mock advertisement      JellyClean is a jellyfish-shaped robot designed to remove microplastics from the ocean to protect marine life. JellyClean is made of soft and ocean-safe materials that do not harm coral, fish or other sea creatures. It also looks and moves like a real jellyfish, so it blends into the ocean and does not scare or confuse marine animals. It floats gently in the water and is powered by solar energy. A transparent solar panel on top helps it to recharge using sunlight when it moves through the sea.             Inside the robot, a quiet suction system pulls in small plastic pieces and stores them in a special tank. When the tank is full, JellyClean swims back to a floating collection station, unloads the waste and returns to work. It is designed to operate in groups. A whole group of JellyCleans can clean large ocean areas silently and efficiently....

W1: "The World I Want to Live In"

Image
The World I Want to Live In Figure 1: AI-generated image of safe spaces for women in city life and schools        The world I want to live in is peaceful, not just because there is no war, but because everyone feels safe and respected. In this world, people are not judged by their gender, race, how they look and what they wear.       As a woman, I want to feel free to walk to the store or take public transport without constantly looking over my shoulder. I want to feel safe being alone in public space, even at night, without fear of being catcalled, followed or judged for what I wear.      But safety is just the beginning. This world is also equal. Women are not told to stay quiet or to act more polite. When I work hard, I am given the same recognition and pay as my male colleagues. Leadership is not seen as a man’s role, everyone is encouraged to lead, no matter their gender.         In this world, justice...
